IDS Associate Erin Johnson, owner/designer of EJI has had a passion for design since the age of 5, when she started decorating her doll houses. Born in Southwest Virginia, but moving to North Carolina in her early teenage years, Erin grew up in the heart of the furniture industry. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Charleston, in Charleston, South Carolina. |

Before opening her own full service design firm in March of 2003, Erin was employed in the textile industry as a hosiery
designer and quality assurance manager for a hosiery and sport sock manufacturer in Alabama and North Carolina. Erin made
the move from fashion to residential interiors in 1999 when she relocated to Colorado, and began working for a Denver based
furniture retailer as a store and design manager. After the birth of her first child in December of 2002, Erin knew she needed to open her own firm to allow her the capability to follow her passion for design as well as her passion for being a mother. Thus, began EJI in March of 2003. Erin lives in Westminster, Colorado with her husband Asa and their two children, Jordan and Braxton. EJI’s design philosophy is quite simple – create a space clients love coming home to. Erin believes it is important to surround yourself with things that you love and enjoy, and creating a space that has the perfect balance, both aesthetically and functionally. Erin is passionate about creating interiors that are comfortable and individual to each client. EJI has extensive resources and the expertise to handle projects of any size. |
